Biography

Born on May 3rd, I was always raised to recognize the importance of education because of its necessity to success. In effect, my parents made sure that my sister and I were always involved and participating in activities that would expound our knowledge. In the summer of 2006, I attended a financial investment seminar at New Jersey Institute of Technology. There I learned a abundant amount of information on investments and  money management. Although I learned so much, I also realized that there was so much that not only I, but the adults around me, did not know about simple money management. This was the moment when my inspiration began.
As a college student at The College of New Jersey, I decided to attain a degree in finance to receive the information needed to improve current situations concerning underprivileged citizens and their financial stability. This is why I plan on obtaining a career that involves financial advising. With the knowledge gained from obtaining my degree, I would have the opportunity to educate others by passing on crucial information to those who need it. My ultimate goal is create or have a career at a  non-profit organization that works to educate under-privileged citizens and provide opportunities for them to become financially stable.

Previous Assignments

Here is a paper on Women in Corporate America which explains the progress women have made in corporate industries but also the discrimination that still exists today. This project addressed another social issue that I feel passionately about, and it exemplifies my interest in social issues.
Just recently, I completed an Financial Report, an analysis of Macy's Incorporated financial statements with a partner where we decided to invest in the company or not based on our findings. This assignment illustrates my knowledge of the accounting processes of organizations and would be essential for anyone working business related topics.
This simple presentation on handling your money that illustrates a basic understanding of money.

The Black Student Union

Being the Vice President of Internal Affairs for the Black Student Union, I spend a large amount of my time trying to encourage the minorities on the TCNJ campus to get involved with the community and get the best out of their experience in college, not only academically but also socially.

In addition to these events we have also had a celebration of Black Music,a Thanksgiving remix with Union Latina and the Asian American Association, and co-sponsored a hunger banquet for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week to shed light on the poverty levels in America and around the world.

Thank You!
